Our Story

Grand River Abstract & Title Co. was organized in 1938, during the period when the massive Grand River Dam Project was underway in northeast Oklahoma, and much land activity and business activity had come to a four county area, with Delaware County gaining the greatest share of reservoir and shoreline from the new lake project.

Grand River Abstract & Title Co. is a family-owned business that was purchased in 1968 by the late Stan Jones and his wife, Beverly. Today, Grand River Abstract & Title Co. has been operating for 50 years with a staff of over 30 and has offices located in Jay, Grove and Langley. Beverly and her daughter, Laura Dishman, continue to operate and manage the company whose main thrust of business comes from the lake area economy generated by the original Grand River Dam Project, which created the 1,300 miles of shoreline known as Grand Lake O' the Cherokees. Grand River Abstract & Title Co. owns and maintains a complete and independent set of Delaware County land records as well as provides storage for more than 20,000 abstracts.

Grand River Abstract & Title Co. is licensed, bonded and insured and currently serves as an agent for First American Title Insurance Company, Stewart Title Guaranty Company and Fidelity National Title Insurance Company. Grand River Abstract & Title Co. is also a proud member of the American Land Title Association, the Oklahoma Land Title Association and the Homebuilders Association of Greater Tulsa.

Our corporate office is located in Jay and handles all of the day to day operations as well as all abstracting, title insurance, title opinions and closing services. We also have two additional Escrow Closing offices located in Grove and Langley to service all our clientele around the Grand Lake area.
